Black and white photograph of thwe Carter mill (wooden mill) next to a creek, 6.9375" x 4.9375", date unknown. Pictured are four men standing next to a large wooden mill on creekbank. The mill and men are surrounded by greenery and foliage; there are green leaves on the trees behind the mill in the photo leading me to believe that this photo was taken in the summer. The men in front of the mill are dressed in formal workclothes. The man on the left is wearing a white, collared button-up shirt and tie and a brown hat. The man next to him is wearing a black three-piece suit and a driver's cap. The man second from right is wearing a grey sport-coat, white collared-shirt and a colored tie. He is wearing darker pants and a hat. The man on the far right is leaning against the mill building and wearing a white button-up shirt, tie, and a driver's cap. The building behind them is patchy--its siding has visible holes in it. Also, its roof is sagging in on itself. The building is entirely made of wood save for a stone foundation that is visible. The mill wheel is in better shape than the building and is also made of wood. In the immediate foreground of the picture is a small creeek, Little Indian Creek, near Buena Vista, Indian Creek Township, Monroe County.
On the back of the photo is written at the top in pencil "Carter Mill Lawrence County Museum".
