Object Name Plate
Description Late 1930s(?) orange-red plate with concentric circles, "Genuine Fiesta H.L. Co. USA" on bottom. 7/8" x 9 3/8" diameter. (This is referred to in the trade as 9" plate; see explanation of this oddball system in Huxford, page 101.) Made by the Homer Laughlin China Company, designed by Frederick Read. Production started in 1936. Fiesta ware was redesigned in 1969 and discontinued in 1972. In 1986 it was reintroduced. References: Linda D.
