Description |
B&W sepia photo of limestone building on the Square, 7.5"x11", date unknown. The building is on the north side of the courthouse square next to the alley. There is a post with round neon sign out front. The sign reads: "Clayton's: Beer, Lunch, Cigars". There is a long sign across the top of the windows: "Beer - Lunch - Cigars" There is a narrow awning over the front of the storefront. A movie poster in a window advertises "The Road to Glory" starring Frederick March, Warner Baxter and Lionel Barrymore, which played at the Princess Theater. No signs on the second floor windows. One window is broken. There is an alley to the left with a truck down it, and a man walking. There is a brick road out front. Embossed in the lower left corner: Chas. Gilbert Shaw, Bloomington, IND. Hand written in ink on the back is: "Whitlie Clayton. No. Side Square" "North Side of Square West of alley" There is a two-hole punch flap on the top side. There is a cloth backing on the photo. |
