5" x 3" Elkhart High School Prom dance card, May 16, 1953. Prom titled "Symphony of Stars." Card is folded once with irridescent blue exterior featuring theme and stars in silver metallic print. The interior has a list of ten dance numbers with blank lines to be filled in. A small silver pencil is attached to the card with a white tasseled cord. Music provided by Don Gels orchestra of Notre Dame University at Hotel Elkhart. There is also a short memory poem with blank spaces to customize: "As the clock struck [8:00] the doorbell rang. / I knew it was [Larry Kline] and my heart sang. / Then on a breeze to the Lake Shore we flew, / A wonderful evening was ahead I knew. / Off to [the Prom] to continue the night, / At [2:00] A.M. we ended our flight. / Remembering all these little things, / All of a sudden my heart sings." A liner sheet of silver foil paper, and one of parchment. |
