5.5" x 3.625" golden / tan colored thick pledge card with elaborate black illustrated floral border. Inside the border is an illustrated portriat of "Francis Murphy" in a smaller oval border surrounded by curling, art nouveau style banners reading "WITH MALICE / TOWARD NONE / WITH / CHARITY FOR ALL." Underneath is printed pledge in decorative letters "I, the undersigned, do PLEDGE my word and honor, GOD HELPING ME, / to abstain from ALL intoxicating liquors as a beverage, and that I will, by all honorable means, encourage others to abstain." The card has been signed in pencil by "Olive Holland". The reverse is blank. |
