Black and white photograph of dark-colored two-story house with white trim, 10.75"x7.25", date unknown. Landscape orientation, with 1.25"-widw white band on the right side. The house is a dark colored house with darker colored fascia and white trim. It has a front-gabled roof and a limestone base. The first story is a dark horizontal siding with the front door on the left side, an awning over the large set of middle windows, and a square screened in porch on the right side. The door has a roofed (front gable) portico, a screen door and a light colored wooden door with glass panels on the top. It is at the top of two sets of stone stairs, surrounded by leaved bushes. The second story is a different material, perhaps a stucco, with three small white windows, and a large set of four windows with an owning in the center. There is a small set of two windows just under the gable of the roof, perhaps for an attic space. There is brick chimney on the right, partially obscured by the trees. There are leafy trees and bushes all around the house, and the lawn is raised form the sidewalk by a low limestone wall. 'Chas. Gilbert Shaw Bloomington, Ind.' is embossed in the bottom left corner. The embossing is also visible on the back (a fabric-texture backing). There is also some handwriting: '601 So. Park' 'and 'Ward Beddle [Biddle?]' are in the top right corner in blue ink, and '199' is in the top left corner in pencil. |
