9.5'' x 7.25'' matted black and white photograph in 12'' x 10'' silvertone frame. Photograph depicts store fronts on west side of downtown Bloomington's square. Visible in photograph is JC Penney's, Kroger, and FW Woolworth's. There is no date on photograph, but it appears to have been taken anytime between 1915 and 1930. The JC Penney store front is decorated for a "Back to School Days" sale, with flags and cut-outs of Mickey and Minnie Mouse and little stars across front of store and in windows. Both the Kroger and the FW Woolworths's have striped awnings. On top of the Kroger Building, there is a sign which reads "Correa Studio". The sidewalks are crowded with people, and cars are parked on both sides of the street. All of the cars are large dark model-T style, except one visible in corner which is a light colored convertible. |
