Front of Indiana Theatre |
Description |
Sepia tone photograph of the front of the Indiana Theatre, 9.5"x7", 1922-23. The Indiana Theatre on East Kirkwood Ave. in Bloomington, IN is a brick building. There is a vertical sign that says "Indiana" suspended from the front. There is a canopy over the entry-way to the theatre. The edge of the canopy is decorated by floral designs. There are several movie posters in front of the theatre and on some of the windows. There are two stories of the building and the upper level has three windows on either side of the canopy. Right above the canopy, there are two arched windows. On either side of the front there is stuccoed roof tiles. The road in front of the building is made of brick. "Indiana Theater" is written in black ink in the upper left corner. on East Kirkwood Street in Bloomington, Indiana. Movie Posters for "While Satan Sleeps" starring Jack Holt and "Lights of New York" are outside. While Satan Sleeps debuted in 1922, and there were three versions of Lights Of New York one in 1916, 1922, and 1928, so I believe that this photo was probably taken in sometime in 1922-23. "Indiana Theater" written in black ink in upper left hand corner. |
