Title |
Chas. H. Kirby Meat Market |
Description |
6.875" x 5.0625" computer scanned reproduction of a black and white photo dating to the mid to late 1800s. The photo depicts the facade of the "Chas. H. Kirby Meat Market" on 102 North Walnut near downtown Bloomington. The storefront is composed of large windows. On either side of the central two door entrance, the windows are painted in identification of the Meat Market. Poster advertisements hang under the name and from the upper windows. The double door entrance appears to be screen door with decorative embellishments. A striped awning stretches across the top of the storefront, held up by narrow black poles, and is draped at both corners. It appears that when the awning is pulled down into its open position "Chas. H Kirby" is visible across the front while "Meat Market" can be read on either side. |
