Sepiatone photograph of Princess Theatre, 7.5"x7", date unknown. Sepia tone photo of the exterior of the Princess Theatre. The building is white limestone, and it stands out between two brick buildings. There is a large decoration on the top with a floral design with the letters "P and T." There are fruit decorations on the left and right upper edges on the facade. There is a vertical light up marquee that says "Princess," hanging on the front, suspended by cables. A very large canopy on the front of the building reads, "Vitaphone-Movietone talking Pictures". This is suspended by chains attatched to the building. Two men are sitting in front of the theatre, one on the left and one on the right of the building. "Billie Dove" is the billed movie on the outside posters. A "Masters cleaners & Dyers" truck and another car behind it are parked on the street. Pete Burns Store is advertising on the front of the theatre. "Publix-Princess Theater" is written in black ink in the upper right hand corner of the print. Record includes reference to John Dillinger. Search term: African American (bystanders) |
